Terms of Service

The rules for using Tradecraft Academy. Written in plain English, because terms you can't read protect nobody.

Read this part if you read nothing else

Tradecraft Academy is an educational service, and nothing more. It does not provide financial, investment, trading, tax or legal advice, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, option or other instrument — whatever it may look like.

Trading and investing carry a real risk of losing money — including all of it. Most people who trade actively lose money. Nothing you learn, practise or score here changes that, and results in our simulator do not predict results with real money.

Every decision you make with real money is yours alone. Speak to a licensed financial professional who knows your circumstances before you risk anything, and only ever risk money you can genuinely afford to lose.

01What this service is

Tradecraft Academy (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is a website at tradecraft.academy that teaches the craft of reading markets: written guides, interactive figures, graded practice drills, a simulated paper-trading desk, and automated coaching that comments on your practice decisions.

It is a teaching tool and a simulator. It does not execute trades, hold money or securities, connect to a brokerage, or manage anything on your behalf. No money you use on this site is real, and no position you open here exists anywhere but in our simulation.

By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

02Not financial advice — and not a substitute for it

We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner or licensed professional in any jurisdiction, and we are not acting in a fiduciary capacity toward you. No relationship of adviser and client is created by your use of the Service.

Educational content is general in nature. It is written without any knowledge of your finances, goals, tax position, experience or risk tolerance, so it cannot be — and is not — suitable-for-you advice. Any tickers, setups, strategies, scores or worked examples are illustrations chosen to teach a concept, never suggestions to trade.

03Simulated results are not real results

The practice desk, drills and trainer are simulations. They may use real historical or delayed market data, but fills, spreads, slippage, liquidity, borrow availability, assignment, fees and your own psychology under real financial pressure are modelled, approximated or absent entirely.

Simulated or hypothetical performance has well-known limitations and is not indicative of future results. A profitable run here does not mean a strategy is profitable, and a mastery score means you answered our questions well — not that you are ready to risk money.

04Market data and third-party content

Market data shown in the Service comes from third-party sources. It may be delayed, incomplete, adjusted, or simply wrong. We do not warrant its accuracy or timeliness, and it must not be relied on for any real trading decision. Screening and scanning tools surface candidates matching mechanical criteria — that is a filter, not a recommendation.

05Automated and AI-generated coaching

Parts of the Service generate feedback automatically, including through third-party AI models. This output is produced by software, is not reviewed by a human before you see it, and can be incomplete, misleading or plainly wrong. It is a teaching aid reacting to a simulated exercise — never advice, and never a verdict on a real trade. Judge it critically, exactly as you should judge everything else here.

06Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old, and legally able to form a binding contract, to create an account. Accounts are for one person; keep your sign-in secure and don’t share it. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Give accurate information when you sign up, and tell us at info@tradecraft.academy if you believe your account has been compromised.

07Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • Scrape, bulk-download, resell or redistribute the guides, drills, questions or data.
  • Reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload or probe the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to give financial advice to others, or present its output as advice.
  • Share an account, or use the Service to build a competing product.
  • Break any law, or infringe anyone's rights, while using it.

08Content and intellectual property

The guides, figures, drills, questions, curriculum, software and branding are ours and remain ours. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them to learn. Anything you submit — feedback, practice notes, ideas — you grant us permission to use to operate and improve the Service.

09Free access, paid plans and changes

Much of the Service is free, with some access limits. We may add paid plans; if we do, pricing and billing terms will be presented before you are ever charged, and we will not charge you without your explicit agreement.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may update these terms. If a change is material we will make it apparent on the site and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept it.

10Ending your access

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@tradecraft.academy. We may suspend or terminate access that breaks these terms, harms other users, or puts the Service at risk.

11No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content, data or coaching output is accurate or complete.

12Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any trading or investment losses, lost profits, lost data, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service — including any decision you make on the basis of anything you read, practise or are told here.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising out of your use of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION TO BE CONFIRMED], and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive authority over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

This placeholder must be completed with the operator’s actual jurisdiction before launch — it is not something that can be assumed.

15Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
